Youth Baseball Field Improvements

The Christian Athletic League, also known as CAL Baseball, has been serving the youth of the greater Riverside, California, area for over 50 years. We are an independent baseball league for boys and girls ranging in age from 4 to 12. We typically have about 200 players in four divisions each spring (Tball, Farm, Minor, and Major), and we hold a six-week baseball camp for about 75-100 players in three divisions each fall (Senior, Junior, and Tball). All of our games are played on three baseball fields on private property (the above picture shows them in prime condition). We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In addition to the basic costs associated with running a baseball league (uniforms, umpires, baseballs, team equipment, field equipment, etc.), the league is responsible for all costs for maintaining the baseball fields and surrounding areas. This includes watering and mowing the grass outfields and maintaining the dirt infields for all three fields. We seek to keep our program affordable to our community, in spite of rising costs.
In January 2018, we were able to add clay to our infields, as it had been 7 years. We are now seeking donations for the following three ways to improve our league and facilities so that the costs do not have to be passed on to the players, many of whom already struggle with player registration fees and basic fundraising:
Outfield Improvements: We need to overseed and apply top soil to our grass outfields before the rainy season so that the grass will be lush and ready to go before the spring season. Please consider making a donation today to allow us to schedule a November work day and signup session!
New Mower: We are still using an aging mower to mow the grass outfields (2.5± acres) and drag the infields, that has more frequently been needing costly repairs. We cannot afford the high cost of a landscaping company, so our fields are mowed and dragged by volunteers using the league's mower. We want to purchase a new mower as soon as possible to ensure reliable field maintenance.
Snack Bar: We have a very old and very small snack shack that is in desperate need of replacement. We also need new refrigerators and other equipment so that we may provide better refreshment options to our families, which will also provide additional ongoing funds to the league for other operating expenses. Again, we would like to make this improvement as soon as funds allow.
