Just Keep Swimming - M Baldwin film

Just Keep Swimming: The great flood of 2016.

Just Keep Swimming is an intimate documentary from San Francisco filmmaker Michael Baldwin.

The film transport viewers into the heart of an "unnamed storm", a natural disaster that spilled 7.1 trillion gallons of water across Louisiana with the use of actual footage from the residents and visitors that were there for the one-in-one thousand-year disaster.

It is a film of heroics and heartache as told by the survivors and a very somber account of the many hardships presented in the aftermath.

Prepare to be awestruck by nature at its most relentless.

It is the story of the state that couldn't have been prepared for the scope of the disaster and a population that selflessly assisted their neighbors in a time of urgent need.

Discover the "Cajun Navy", or impromptu fleet, of civilian boats who were ultimately responsible for thousands of rescues which undoubtedly kept the death toll to a minimum during the three-day crisis.

Bear witness as months later, Louisiana is still struggling to recover from the tragedy.

Michael's own biological family was forced to abandon their homes, and although the filmmaker has never lived among them in his past, he has pulled up stakes in the SF Bay Area and travelled across country to assist in the rebuilding of their homes and hopes to present this unique film to a world that is largely unaware of this heartbreaking disaster nor the peoples spirit that it took to survive it.

It is the filmmaker’s unique access to their struggle and sincere commitment to the people of this region that will distinguish this film from any others.

Thank you for participating in this endeavor. It wouldn't be possible without your support.

Beyond the costs associated with creating this film and getting it to market, please know that proceeds from Just Keep Swimming will be returning to the affected communities. Mr Baldwin also hopes to contribute boats for the various emergency units.

About the Filmmaker:
Michael Baldwin is from California. He has produced: Award Winning Television for SkyTV, TechTV, ABC, TCI Cable, AIN and ZDTV. For the past year, Baldwin has been focusing on the following documentary films: Duck's Breath Mystery Theater Grand Finale , The Duckumentary (working title), a comedy web serial called Confederate(s), and a short film about San Francisco muralists called Gift.

The Plan (already in progress):
Travel to Louisiana, gather cell phone videos of the flood, and follow up with the survivors as the water recedes and beyond. His immersion at ground zero there is proving well worth the efforts, so this film will doubtless be a remarkable look at these events through the participation from individuals and communities that lived it.

Thank you for participating in this film.

"I've met too many ordinary people suffering, there are very real hardships in just about every direction for as far as my heart can see. I think we need to evidence what has happened here."
