At the end of today we're going to close the gofundme page set up to pay for Jon Beast's funeral. We would like to thank everyone for their generosity and for so many lovely comments and shared personal memories. An amazing £5,895.00
has so far been raised. All money raised over the target amount will be donated to Shelter, a charity whose cause Jon had connections with back in the day. Jon's big fat send off will be on Friday morning 8th August at the Carleton Crematorium near Blackpool. Once again. Thank you all so much.

Didn't know him but I still have an abiding memory of thousands of people chanting "You Fat Bastard" in the camp-site after the Carter set at Reading (...92?). Outstanding.

Apart from his friendship, enthusiasm, support & encouragement, & all the incredible gigs, allegiances & friendships I gained through knowing Jon - most significantly, he took me in when I was homeless - a home which I stayed in for 16 years; & my son, Conor (who's 19 tomorrow) simply wouldn't exist if Jon hadn't put my band, The Shout!, on in the Bull & Gate & I, subsequently, met Con's mam behind the bar... Go raibh mile maith agat, mo chara - a thousand thank you's, my friend. I hope you're at peace. Leeson x
