In Memory of Lord and Lolibeth Balatbat
The couple had been married for 14 years and were both born in the Philippines. Lord Balatbat was an Assistant Manager at the Walgreens in Jersey City and Lolibeth worked at Quest Diagnostics. The Balatbat's were very fun, loving, free spirited, caring, outgoing, giving, and just an overall awesome couple that enjoyed life and loved smiling. They were the nicest people you could have ever known. They were truly in love and enjoyed being parents.
Due to the unexpected and tragic timing of their loss, this account is being set up to help the Balatbat family cover their needs. Funeral arrangements are still being made but will be posted on here as soon as we know something. Please keep the young children and their family members in your prayers.
We all miss you very much.
For personal verification: My name is Mohsin Khan and Lord Balatbat was a co-worker at Walgreens. I have received permission from the Balatbat family to create this page. All funds raised will be transferred to a trust fund in the name of the children that will be created by their legal guardian.
Thank you all!

I'm hoping that the family knows about social security survivor benefits for children under the age of 16. This could help the children set up a college fund for their education. Deepest sympathy for the loss of the boy.
Our deepest sympathy for the family. I have recently learned that the son passed as well. My family was also camping during this horrifying tragedy. My husband had helped with the boy. GOD SPEED
My condolence to the family and many prayers to both the surviving girls. I helped out during the tragedy evacuating the son first, then the aunt, then daughter as I prayed for her holding her head while she was on the stretcher. My heart hurts for the family and I would like to stay in contact with the family. GOD SPEED!!!
No updates yet. Last we heard he's still in critical condition.
Any updates on son?
Our fund for the children of the Balatbat-Ortega Family has reached $16,000 today during the community clean up of the campground. I came to tears when I saw the lovely site where the parents lost their lives...they must have enjoyed an incredible final sunset over the Chesapeake Bay. Our fund is at any PNC Bank and 100% will go to the children's court-appointed guardian.
Condolences to your family and prayers for the children's future. I'm very proud of the response from the community, the compassion and caring are moving. Peace to you all.

This is a great a noble thing being done for the children and family. And the fact the state of Virginia is stepping in and helping out. This is what true humanity is. Being there for one another in a time of crisis and need. Please donate! Even if you can spare $1, every bit helps.
Pamela that is so amazing to hear. The love and out pour of emotion is amazing. I knew the couple for 11 years. They were wonderful people and will be deeply missed by me and so many that they touched. Their children are amazing as well. They are so bright and absolutely amazing students.
Residents of Virginia's Eastern Shore where this tragedy occurred have also set up a fund for the children at PNC Bank in Onley, VA.
