Parkinson"s and Rescue Cats
We are a couple. Catherine and James. She has had parkinson's and dystonia for 9 years and he is her caregiver. Together we also take care of 19 rescue kitty's and a dauchsaund. James works when he can but living in a small town jobs are few and far between. And Cat's disability only progresses as time goes on. Our only income is disability and our online stores which we've been working hard on so we have something to support ourselves in the future. It take's a lot to feed and take care of all of our rescue's but we love them with all our heart. If you can help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated. Cost's like vet care, flea meds, worming meds etc all are overwhelming at times for someone who has just one. Imange 19. but each is well loved and cared for instead of alone and unwanted when we found them.
Our newest babies born Feb 28, 2015
I am so grateful to everyone for being here for us today. This morning I was so lost and all I could think of was giving them all away so they didn't go without. Thank you all so so very much for caring about us the way you do and all our babies thank you as well. We love them all so very much and life would never be the same without all the love they give to us. Thank you for helping us keep them and give them what they mean. I will never ever forget this. I can't stop crying but unlike this morning it's tears of joy. Kaz thank you thank you thank you XOXOXOXO we love you as well.
Thank you so much Trudy it means so much to all of us XOXOXOXO
Thank you so much Carol and Vicki for helping our dream come true.
Our business https://www.facebook.com/JandCUpcycledFurnitureAndNoveltyItems
A few weeks ago James made this for me. For those that do not know I have young onset parkinson's and dystonia for almost 8 years now. I am having a real problem with doing this. I hate the idea of people seeing me as a charity. And yet at the same time I think that I am also the voice of all our children we have adopted here as well. This is not all about my illness It is also about being able to take care of all the babies we now have, and about securing the future of everyone I love, when the day comes that I won't be able to do the things I do now. This also is not about us just asking for money. There are so many ways you can help beside that. Little things like sharing our page or our work, buying a custom piece from us, any help is greatly appreciated. We do not mind working our way to our dream. This is not something we want just handed to us. We are also not looking to get rich, neither one of us are very materialistic. Our dream is a simple quite country life. But when I get bad I want to know they will have somewhere to always call their own. The business we started J&C Creations has come a long way in just a year. We went from pallet furniture that we could only sell locally, to our own art on wood that we can ship all over. We had to slow down because we could not make ends meet with James staying at home being my caregiver. This has really been hard for both of us. So far we've coped and managed to still keep our dream of doing our art alive. But both of my illness are progressive, which means no matter what I do eventually I will get worse and worse every year. As of now there is no cure for either. Now we do custom ordered piece's as much as we can and we have a Zazzle store that we have been working on as well. We have added Pinterest - Twitter and Google+ pages as well. Our dream is for us to be self supporting doing what we love best. Working together and making our art. A small piece of land we can put our trailer on. A place we can call ours. That is not easy to do when your living on disability and a part time job and have no transportation. At the moment we have 11 rescues cats and 1 dog. Just the cost of cat food and litter every week is overwhelming. Sometimes I think our babies eat better than we do. All of our males are fixed and none of our babies go outside. Vet bills, food etc are all add in's to our own monthly bills. Each one of them we're left outside to fend for themselves and we've given them all a safe loving home instead, but it's not easy to keep what we are doing up and still get ahead to achieve our dream. We are not getting any younger and the dream of hitting the lottery, being discovered etc is just that a dream. Not that it couldn't happen, but realistically time is short and I don't know how much of it I've got to just wait and see. For me time is precious to see our dream become a reality. So please any way you can help, be it sharing, purchasing or donating we thank you for helping us reach our dream.
