Bye Bye Jen's Boobies

Being sick when you are a parent is hard enough but being sick when you are the parent of a special needs child is added stress. Stress my amazing friend Jennifer does not need. Jen, as we call her has been diagnosed with breast cancer (read her blog here ) and within just four weeks of diagnosis will have both her breasts removed. Jen isn't working that's been left to Dad Paul who will juggle the house, the kids and Jen's care as she recovers. But the bills are mounting, incontinence pads for Josie alone, who has among many things, Kabuki Syndrome cost the family $270 a fortnight.  That's just the start. Bills are mounting from both Josie and Jen's medical costs and the day to day "letters with windows" that keep arriving. Any money raised will help ease the stress and keep the family from drowning. Jen's sense of humour through the past couple of weeks and amazing show of strength around her family, particularly Josie (the big C word isn't mentioned as Miss J would not cope, she's watched too many hospital shows and thinks Mum's having a boob job) has been amazing. This family, whose own community spirit runs deep deserve a helping hand.
