Rootin' for Rachel

Imagine one day you're cheering, and the next your struggling to breathe. You never know what life will hand you. My sister, a normal freshman in high school, is now 1 of the 20,000 Americans suffering with Guillian-Barre syndrome (GBS). GBS is a condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves. It starts with numbness and tingling in the limbs, then progresses to temporary Paralysis. The tricky thing with GBS, is that it is unknown when she will regain the ability to walk and talk again. Due to unpredictability of GBS, we're unsure how long she will need treatment and recovery. She's been in PICU for one week. Next, she will go to a step down unit where she will continue to receive care for an unknown length of time. We're seeking support to help Rachel and our family during this time of need. Your support will help pay for medical bills as well as the loss of income for both Nancy and Ernie (parents). They have been out of work now for a week, and will remain out of work while Rachel is in PICU. Once Rachel gets moved out of PICU, they plan to rotate shifts at the hospital and work. Let's help them by taking away some of the financial worry.
Thank you and God bless,
