School Supplies for a Detroit School

Please help me raise money to buy school supplies for Southwest Detroit Lighthouse Charter Academy in Detroit.
I'm a native Detroiter now living in Miami. Though I no longer live my hometown, the love I have for the city still burns deep. I want to see Detroit succeed, and a big part of this hope for success is to provide a quality education to students in Detroit. The quality of education can come in several forms such as a dedicated and passionate teacher, a safe learning environment, and having the necessary tools which can assist in the learning process.
I decided to start this campaign in honor of my mother who passed away earlier this year. She taught in Detroit for 15+ years and loved giving back to the community. She constantly shared with my family about the lack of supplies that students had, and the lack of supplies that the school system provided. She was a dedicated teacher, and like most teachers in the United States, she spent a lot of money out of her own pocket to help deliver a quality education to her students. My mother was a big believer in equality and thought that her students should have the same supplies that students in the uburbs had. She bought books, paper, crayons, pencils, erasers, etc. year after year to provide for her students. There is no reason that students in any school district across this country should be in a learning environment that doesn't have enough school supplies to last a full school year.
Once the money is raised, I plan on contacting and donating the money directly to Southwest Detroit Lighthouse Charter Academy. Please donate. The money raised will directly benefit students and teachers at this particular school in Detroit. If the campaign is a success, I plan on creating a larger fundraising effort which will then expand to help Detroit Public Schools.
