The old man stepped forward and said, "I'm not interested in what you're saying. We don't need nice words, we need clean water."
Mike Viser told me this story on the Beer with Jesus podcast. He told of how he promised this man to get him water--dig a well--within a year.
The man said, "Why should I believe you? Many have come and promised to bring water. But they left and never returned."
But Mike made good on his promise. That was 2001. The organization he started, Wells for Life, now has over 700 wells completed in India.
You don't often get a chance to change the world and save lives. Giving clean water to those without it does both. It changes their world.
