We need your help!
Due to an unexpected and rapid increase in registrations to the 2019 Back to the Root - Black Pacific Northwest Growers Gathering (www.blackfoodpdx.org ) the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition have a wonderful, and challenging problem! We secured an initial $10,000 event grant to cover our original budget and that is now not enough.
We need to quickly close a gap of $3,000 for attendee scholarships for registrations, adequate healthy food, secure housing, and off-setting travel for African-American, Africans from 9 countries, and Black-Identified people from the region attended!!
With the awesome success of the Feb. 13th - Farming While Black event in Portland and we were introduced to 23 more farmers in the area that were looking for us and this work!! We want to help them be with us in Corvallis on the 22nd! Thank you
The overwhelming response by newly discovered community has added to the already growing list of Black and African growers in the Portland Oregon and SW Washington area expanding now to Sacramento, Tacoma, and Seattle! A movement is on the rise and it is GREEN, HEALING, and VIBRANT!
Please support it's growth and this event! Your donation of $5 or $500 can help this event accomodate the now fired up Black farming and food community in the Portland, NW Oregon, and SW Washington region! #blackfoodjustice
Again, we are looking to raise enough to close the new costs of attendance, travel, and housing for this first ever ebet in Oregon for Black and African farmers. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and YOU advocates, supporters, and change-agents for Food Justice in the Northwest!
