Funeral & Memorial Funds for Christopher Rodriguez

Donation protected
With the heaviest of hearts, I am so sad to be writing this and to say that two days ago, on March 27th, 2019, Christopher Elliot Rodriguez passed away from heart failure in his sleep suddenly, and unexpectedly. He had just celebrated his 40th birthday earlier this month. He was asleep on the couch for a nap when he passed and his youngest son and daughter came home from school and found him. Besides just being the amazing friend, son, and brother that he was, he was also a husband, a father to three, and a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
My name is Amara Rodriguez, and I am the oldest daughter of his. Along with me, my dad was survived by my mom and my two younger siblings who are 12 and 17.  On Wednesday, we were notified that I was declared his next of kin and told that we would be able to continue to receive his VA benefits (to help support the cost of living for his children now), and that along with some other things, that his memorial and burial would be taken care of free of charge. After some further investigation today and after trying to find answers, we have now learned that he had stopped receiving benefits on the first of this month and that the application processes to see if we will receive anything at all now, could take weeks.
Despite my mom and dad having been divorced for this last year, my dad worked tirelessly to become a better man, father, and person to everybody in his life. He was endlessly faithful, loyal, resilient, and he would work multiple jobs year round to support his family financially. My two younger siblings were living at the house that we grew up in with him when he passed, and my mom and I are living on our own. Due to how unexpected his death was, and the news that his VA benefits had stopped at the beginning of this month, we are struggling to afford to take care of the services for his burial and funeral, along with the cost of living and other basic necessities. Although we are reluctant to, we are asking for help from anybody that can donate or just share this post on social media with their friends and family. Anybody and everybody who knew Christopher Rodriguez knew the amazing man that he was, and could probably tell you countless stories they have of him being as incredible as he was. There are no words right now to express the sadness and devastation our family and friends are feeling right now. We greatly appreciate any and all help from anybody who is able to right now. Once we have acquired the funds to prepare him for a proper burial, I will update with a time and place for his funeral so anybody who wishes to come, can.
