What does the "I CAN" SHIRT mean?
It's about being significant in the world, connecting with people to change lives. Simple acts of kindness: buying a cup of coffee for the person behind you, volunteering at a facility providing care for the homeless, bringing blankets and towels to an animal rescue, volunteering at a local charity, being an involved parent or just something that you're passionate about that impacts the world.
Purpose: For people to focus on everyday random acts of kindness that unite us, that enrich our communities and that serve a greater good.

The concept is that once you have made a donation and receive your shirt, you will put it on and go do a random act of kindness in your community with a purpose of videoing or photographing it. Once you've done this, post it to social media with the following hashtags and encourage your friends and contacts to do the same. It's all about inspiring others to see that they are SIGNIFICANT while celebrating your gifts that make a DIFFERENCE to IMPACT others and leave a LEGACY of goodness in the world.
No act is too big or too small! They are all significant. You may even want to show appreciation to someone who has made an impact in YOUR life by donating to give THEM a tshirt.

The goal is for everyone to make a difference in 3 ways:
1. You help many charities by donating a minimum of $50 and receiving an "I CAN" SHIRT.
2. You go out in your own community while wearing your "I CAN" SHIRT and perform a random act of kindness to a deserving person, organization, or cause.
3. You become a catalyst by challenging your friends and family to do the same in their "I CAN" SHIRTS.

Hello! My name is Chuck Burgess, and I am running for Honorary Mayor of Brandon, Florida this June. As the Executive Director of the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, an iconic community 501c3 organization that has touched thousands of lives over the past five and half decades, I dedicate each day of my life to impacting others.
My hope is that by being a part of the Honorary Mayor’s Race we will raise significant FINANCIAL RESOURCES, EXPOSURE and AWARENESS for our grass roots, community non-profits so they can drive their missions to an even greater level. This will hopefully inspire many other communities to do the same.
By ordering a shirt and making a financial contribution and getting others to join in, YOU can make a DIFFERENCE and an IMPACT with every dollar you contribute to our BURGESS 4 BRANDON (and beyond) campaign. EVERY dollar raised goes directly to local charities, and provides an opportunity through winning the Honorary Mayor's Race to continue impacting so many great causes throughout the year. These charities feed and clothe the homeless, provide healthcare to those that cannot afford it, take care of women and children leaving abusive relationships, offer programs for special needs children and adults from all over the world, work to eradicate youth drowning in our country, provide scholarships to deserving high school seniors and give opportunities for growth and leadership to our youth.
