Building Homes in Nicaragua

Donation protected
Tropical storm Nate hit the west coast of Nicaragua on Thursday October 5th in the early morning hours with little to no warning. The heavy rains and strong winds hit San Juan Del Sur and surrounding areas hard. The majority of the boats in the bay have been destroyed, and many of the beachfront restaurants and businesses have been damaged. Worst of all, the storm has caused severe flooding and landslides causing many people to lose their homes.

Over the past year LBW has raised close to $8000CAN to build homes in Nicaragua. This money will be used to rebuild and repair homes that have been damaged by Hurricane Nate.

1. Who we are and where we’re from
We are Life Before Work Travel, based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
We have LBW employees on the ground in Nicaragua working with others who have created campaigns for relief efforts. We have posted the people and campaigns below that we will be collaborating with.

3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)
The funds donated to this campaign will initially be used for immediate relief efforts, such as providing food, clean water, dry clothes and other neccesary items to those in need. Once those needs are met the remaining funds will be combined with the $8000CAN previously raised in order to rebuild and repair damaged homes.

4. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies
Employee, Karli Hedlund, will be withdrawing the funds from the campaign while in Nicaragua. The funds will then be used to assist those affected by the hurricane. The items  purchased will be personally delivered to the affected communities by Karli and the volunteer brigades.

Thank you for your support!
