Expand Furman Foundation School

Help us expand the Furman Foundation School in Afrancho Kumasi, Ghana.

The Furman Foundation School is a primary school that serves just over 120 students from Nursery to Grade 4. It was established in 2014 in a two story house, and at the time it only encompassed 20 students. The Furman Foundation School (FFS) is a Low Cost Private School (LCPS) located in Afrancho, Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Each student pays $0.60 USD per day, this fee covers lunch and staff salaries. LCPS's thrive on philanthropy and self aid. FFS aims to contribute its quota to Ghana's developmental agenda through an education that emphasizes both intellectual and moral excellence. It aspires to create an enabling platform for creative and meaningful discoveries in the course of knowledge acquisition.

The main objective of this campaign is to expand the school in order to increase the capacity of students and teach up to Grade 9. In the last three years there have been a variety of volunteers from multiple countries that have taught and fundraised for the school. This is where I tie in; on December 29, 2017 I will be traveling to Ghana to teach Reading, Phonics, Math and Art to grades 1 through 4.
