Build a night sky observatory

Donation protected
Astronomy is my passion, so much so that I searched out the last few dark sky locations in eastern Illinois for a location to build this observatory.  Sadly, there are very few areas in eastern US where the night skies are not polluted.
Younger people do not realize their loss in the beauty of  the night sky. There are very few places where you can still see the milky way or the minor stars that outline the delicate constellation patterns.  Those are mostly washed out by the light pollution we suffer in all big cites.  I would like to educate people about the loss we experience by no being able to see all the stars in the sky.  This observatory is located in one of the last remaining areas in Illinois, you can still see the milky way, you can still see the outlines of the constellations.
The observatory can be used by schools and public organizations to teach and education about our beautiful universe.
Additionally, the observatory could be used by public organizations to teach how important it is to fight against light pollution.
The cost to build the observatory break out roughly to $2000 for the concrete work and $3000 for the building and roof(the roof rolls back).
I would like to being building by the end of June, most of the work will be done by myself with help from my farmer neighbor and one other friend. The work will mostly be done by us on the weekends so the sooner we can start the more likely we can be finished before winter.
