Buena Vista Police K9 Program

Donation protected
The Buena Vista Police Department located in Saginaw, Michigan is in the process of starting up a K9 program. We are currently asking for assistance in raising money to get the program started. The cost of the dog and the academy is $12,000.00 and it will be approximately $3,000.00 to outfit an existing patrol vehicle.

Buena Vista Township is located in Saginaw County and falls on the outskirts of the City of Saginaw. A dog will greatly aid our department in assisting officers detect the presence of narcotics, tracking suspects, clearing buildings, and apprehension. This greatly increases officer safety and deters suspects from running or fighting with officers. Not only will the dog be used for police situations, but also interacting with the community and building a partnership with it.

All donations will go straight into a non-profit account set up by our Chief. The funds in this account will only be used for the K9 program and assisting with medical, food, training, and maintenence expenses.

We have just started seeking donations for the new program. We are anticipating on attending the next academy which is in June. We would like to have all of the money needed by mid May in order to have the patrol vehicle and dog arrangements in place beforehand.
