Help Marilyn's Miracle Continue

Donación protegida

Marilyn Buckley is my daughter-in-law, though I couldn't love her more if she was born as my own. She is a 24 years old mother, adored wife, cherished daughter and sister, and one of the greatest example of kindness, service, patience and Christ-like love I have met in someone so young. Those who know her, adore her. As for our family…we simply cannot imagine life without her.

After the most challenging year of Marilyn’s life and exhausting our combined family finances, it is now Obamacare that stands between a glorious miracle that CAN save her…and the terror of losing her.

Let me explain.

Shortly after marrying our son and giving birth to our adorable granddaughter, Marilyn’s health took a dramatic plunge, which started with a complicated labor in April 2016—and ended in an emergency C-section. This was followed by severe blood clotting and inflammation throughout her body to such a degree, she was unable to care for herself or her infant daughter (Alhannah).

The next few months brought our family closer together trying to help Marilyn endure intense (and growing) pain we could not explain. It was not uncommon for my son to show up at 2-3am, eyes soaked with tears, asking us to take the baby because he was rushing Marilyn to the emergency room (again).

She was hospitalized in July 2016 with a pulmonary embolism. Doctors discovered more than 2 dozen blood clots in her right lung and even more in her legs. Our family and community fasted and prayed for her. However, the doctor who treated her told Evan to prepare for the worst, that 1 in 3 people died with her condition.

Within a few short months, this cross country runner was unable to use her arms, hands, could not stand or walk by herself…and yet Marilyn's faith never wavered…and God prepared a miracle for her.

Navigating an ever-complicated (and angering) medical insurance landscape and with the personal help of their doctor, Evan was able to get Marilyn past a huge waiting list and into a specialist. A series of tests were done. Marilyn was diagnosed with a spine fracture, ankylo spondylitis, scoliosis and fibromyalgia.

For the first time since these challenges began, Evan came home with GOOD NEWS: the doctor explained that he was completely confident a special (and aggressive) series of treatments over the next 2 and a half years, would free Marilyn from her pain and allow her to heal, enabling her to care for herself, her daughter and to lead a long, normal, productive life!!

WE HAD HOPE ONCE MORE!!!

We agreed as an extended family, to do whatever it took to make this happen and joined our resources with our son.

The combined cost of Marilyn’s medications is $5000 a month and this does not count the tens of thousands in medical bills already accrued to get her to this point.

Even with our combined efforts, we cannot maintain her treatments.

Evan is trapped between not making enough to cover the thousands in co-payments for insurance and making too much to qualify for Medicaid. He works overtime at every opportunity and our family has combined all our resources and finances to help provide food, rent, treatment medicine, utilities…everything…to get this far. Marilyn is currently ON these medications and they are working!!!

…but our time has run out.

OUR NEED IS IMMEDIATE!
Marilyn needs her next treatments IMMEDIATELY. I wish there was another way to do this, but we have completely depleted our resources!

HOW THE MONEY WILL BE USED
Her medicine is our #1 priority—we’ll deal with medical bills later.

Your donation will be used IMMEDIATELY to purchase Marilyn’s medication. Her pain is increasing even as I write this. Everything we receive goes first to her successful treatments. If there is anything left over, it will go to cover the numerous unexpected emergencies and costs of living for Marilynn, our granddaughter Alhannah and Evan.

ALL PROCEEDS HAVE BEEN SET UP TO GO DIRECTLY TO MARILYN AND & HER FAMILY.

ANOTHER MIRACLE IS COMING!
Evan has qualified for a program that will cover Marilyn’s treatments for the full duration, but it won’t kick in for 90-120 DAYS. That means we need to maintain her medication until then.

WHY THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO US?
It goes without saying that we love and adore Marilyn, but there’s SO much more to this amazing girl that I fondly call my daughter.

Marilyn fought to get into this family.

Some refused to accept her choice and she was subjected to exceedingly unkind circumstances….all in an attempt to split a match she was convinced was made in Heaven.

She was always patient. She was always humble. She was always virtuous.

Yet she had to choose between her convictions and the support of many people around her.

...and she was determined to marry my boy anyway.

I cannot imagine a life without her in this family and she’s worth EVERY effort, EVERY sacrifice we as a family, can make to ensure her recovery.

Just wanted you to understand how much we love her and why we're asking for your help.

ALTHOUGH I FEEL LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY, I WANT TO BE VERY CLEAR ON THE INTENTION OF THIS CAMPAIGN, THE MONEY IS FOR MARILYN’S MEDICINE & CARE DURING THE NEXT 90-120 DAYS UNTIL SPECIAL INSURANCE KICKS IN. ANY MONEY THAT IS RECEIVED OVER THIS AMOUNT WILL BE USED BY THE FAMILY FOR THEIR NEEDs TO RELIEVE ONGOING STRESS AND HARDSHIPS.

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!

GOD BLESS.
