Autism Service Dog for Mattias

Mattias is our 8 year old boy with Autism. He really wants to have a friend but has a difficult time with socializing with other children. It is very hard fo him to read social cues. Other children find our son difficult to be with and exclude him from activities. Now that he is 8, he is starting to notice these things. They are painful to him.

Autism service dogs have proven to be an asset for many who are on the spectrum. These dogs provide a social “bridge” for children who are often excluded by others because of their behavior or lack of social interaction.

We want to help make his desire of having a friend a reality. A highly trained Autism dog would serve as a bridge for Mattias to communicate socially with other children.  This special dog would help him develop the skills to develop a human friendship, while he learns about love and caring from a four legged friend.  This is our hope for our child.
