Three east side McHenry County communities (Oakwood Hills, Crystal Lake, Prairie Grove, Island Lake, Cary) are facing very seroius threat that has the potential to lower property values and make the East side of Crystal Lake/Prairie Grove and Oakwood Hills undesireable places to live. The power plant may change the fabric of our beautiful residential communities.  Please support the cause and donate whatever you can to help us win this battle!

This battle is heating up and we're going to need money to keep it going.  In short notice, we need to be prepared to fund attorney's fees and expert testimony, etc.

When this battle was fought in 1999 against Reliant energy's plans for a Peaker plant in Woodstock, a similar sum was raised and used to win the case.

**Unused funds will be handled responsibly, and will be donated to a good cause of my choice and will directly impact the communities affected by this ordeal.**

It appears that the Village Trustees have figured out a creative way to avoid public comment on the proposed power plant. They have scheduled an "executive session" before public comment so they don't have to hear the people! (Very creative, Mr. John Cowlin). We are asking everyone to FILL THE ROOM at MCC and show them that we aren't going away! We need as many people as we can to go and sit for the hour and a half meeting.

PLEASE no yelling at the village board members. If you hear someone yelling, ask them to stop. Yelling does not help our cause. Showing up in numbers, wearing red is all we need to accomplish on Thursday. Show the village trustees that we are not going away, even if they continue to pretend that we don't exist!

Were we not promised an opportunity to speak at tonights meeting? Can we trust that we will get another opportunity in October? I recall reading in one of the many articles about a payout schedule from the developer to Oakwood Hills but cannot find it anymore. Anybody who can locate it please post it. It appears that Melanie Funk has already emarked the first payout for road improvments on Rawson Bridge Rd.

There has to be an alternative that does not take so much away from the community. There are plenty of areas just north on 31 that would affect many less people.
