BSA Troop 71 Trailer & Gear Stolen

Donation protected
Scout Troop 71, which is celebrating it's 100th year anniversary, had it's troop trailer and gear stolen on July 24, on the eve of its trip to Crater Lake. The scouts packed the trailer in front of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church in North Portland and locked it up for the trip (including trailer hitch lock). In the morning it was gone.

The trailer was donated to the troop back in 2012 by a now deceased, former lifelong scout who credited scouts with saving his life when he was young.

Luckily, the trailer was recovered, but with significant damage and most of the gear stolen. We are seeking to raise $6,000: $3,000 for lost equipment and $3,000 to repair the trailer, repaint it and reapply troop logos that were spray painted over.

Please consider making a donation to help the troop replace the lost equipment (tents, cooking tools and pots, stoves, lanterns, patrol boxes which is like a portable kitchen for the scouts, etc) and the cost to repair the trailer.

Thank You
