Bryson's Medical Fund

Friends and family, we are creating this GoFundMe page to ask for prayers and financial support to help the family of our 13-year old nephew, Bryson Stein.  Bryson was just diagnosed with a rare cancer called synovial sarcoma.  It's one of the rarest forms of soft tissue cancer.  In Bryson's case, the cancer is in his knee.  He has had two years of knee issues and several knee surgeries before this was diagnosed.  That is how rare it is.  After many tests, it was confirmed that the cancer has not spread and can be treated with radiation followed by surgery.  Praise God!  Bryson begins at least two months of radiation, five days a week beginning next week.  Once the radiation treatments are successful and complete, they will then do surgery to try and remove the tumor.  We have every confidence in Dr. Lindberg and her team to remove it all.  Since the radiation will affect his growth plate, he will possibly have to undergo some sort of procedure on the other leg so both legs will grow at the same rate.

Bryson is the son of our youngest brother, Craig, and my sister-in-law Angie.  Craig and Angie live in Asotin, Washington and Bryson's treatment and surgery will be at Seattle Children's Hospital, which is a 5-1/2 hour trip one way.  Seattle Children's Hospital ranks as one of the top children's hospital in the U.S., so we are confident that Bryson will be getting the best of care!  Craig and Angie have four other children at home as well, Mackenzie, Logan, Austin, and Matthew.  Craig also has a grown son, Alex, who lives in Georgia.  Craig is a great father and a strong man, however, he has MS, so the stress and fatigue could certainly be a concern while he works to stay strong to keep things as "normal" as possible for the family.  Angie is a great mom and a strong woman who has had to take a leave of absence from work.  As you can imagine, this will put a huge financial strain on the family.  Angie has also put her nursing school on hold until Bryson is well again.

Prayers and support are needed for this loving family!  It will be a long journey for all of them!  The extended family is all on the East Coast (too far away!) ...and we are so grateful for the network of local friends who are praying and rallying around Bryson, Craig, Angie, and the kids during this time!

In closing, any amount you are able to donate to help Bryson and family would be so very much appreciated!  If you are unable to donate, your prayers will mean more than you know.  We will keep you updated as Bryson fights and wins this battle!  He is an AWESOME kid with an incredible attitude and we are sure he will be back on the playing field in no time!
