My father served in the United States Navy back in the 90’s. During his service he fought in Desert Storm and Desert Sheild in Iraq. During this war my father along with his fellow Seamen were gased.  The gases began giving most of the service members involved heart and respiratory failures.
My dad was diagnosed with heart failure back in 2013 due to the gases he was exposed to from war. He continued to work to support his family with his heart failure slowly progressing. He did this because of my little brother; his son, Abraham. Abraham was born with parts of his brain not working so he is completely disabled and requires a lot of work and medicine so he doesn’t have a seizure. Abraham has never been able to speak or walk, he understands what’s going on and what you say, but he cannot communicate like a normal person would. Due to Abraham’s conditions my mother stays home with him and takes care of him. Early this year my mother was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had to have her kidney removed. We could have lost her, but God gave us a miracle and she stands cancer free today... about a month later (June) my father started noticing he wasn’t able to breathe and he landed himself in the hospital. They figured it was just his medicines needing switched, but this time would turn out to be different. We found out that his heart is only working at 13% and he is starting to develop tissue necrosis in his heart from it not being able to work properly. Since his heart isn’t performing like it should his organs began to shut down and his body has become reliant on several different I.V. drip medications.
He is currently in ICU in Oklahoma City’s Integris Baptist Medical Center. My Father’s doctor wants to put a mechanical heart pump inside of his chest to keep him alive until he comes up as a recipient for a heart transplant.
My Mother is trying to be present for my Father in the hospital and it has put them in more of a financial bind than they were before all of this had happened to the two of them this year.
With my Mother gone that leaves my little sister Abigail to take care of my little brother Abraham. My oldest sister Danyall is trying her best to take care of them, but she has four babies of her own and trying to take care of our 18 year old disabled younger brother has proven to be one of the most difficult tasks she has encountered.
My parents have no income coming in at the moment from their health issues this year so bills are becoming unpaid and pressing more stress on them than any human being deserves. On top of previous bills and current bills my parents have the stress of trying to keep my Mother in Oklahoma City with my Father so he isn’t alone. So as you can tell things have been extremely rough. I have helped as much as I can, but it’s too much for one person to do. We have filed for Social Security, Sonnercare, and the VA, but as you all may know none of those organizations pay bills and feed two younger children.
So I am asking for donations to help pay for part of the co-payment on Dad’s mechanical heart pump surgery, pay bills, provide food for Abby and Abraham, keep the electricity and water on for them, and enough for food, water, and gasoline for my Mother to stay in OKC with my dad.
Any amount will help and we appreciate all of the help and prayers everyone has given.
Thank you all for taking your time to view this campaign and thank you all for your continued love, prayers, and support.
I just ask that if you are not able to help with a donation that you please say a little prayer for my Father and family.

Thank you for your time,

Betty Jo.
