Bruce’s Surgery Fund

My name is Catherine, my dog got shot and I’m trying to still pay his medical bills.

My pup Bruce is a year and a half old, he is a husky/lab mix. On November 18th he managed to slip out of the house.

I went to look for him and call for him, however he is very fast and I could not find him and I suppose he didn’t care that I was calling him back home. When he returned I thought he was in a dog fight, but it turns out someone had shot him. Bruce always has on his neon orange harness in hopes that if he was to get out without me and anyone was to see him they’d know he was someone’s dog and not a wolf in their yard. Bruce is a very sweet boy and he wouldn’t hurt someone, he would never charge at someone. If this wasn’t an accident I do not understand why someone would shoot an animal, especially if the animal isn’t coming toward you to attack.

The bullet went inside of his torso and into his intestine, it missed all his other organs but his abdomen was full of blood and they had to remove about a foot of his intestine and then put what was left back together. If his instestine does not regain good blood flow, it will fall apart and I will have to euthanize my Brucie boy. He is so sweet,playful, and all around a happy pup as well as strong. The vet said considering his condition he was acting very alert before surgery.

He will be in care for about 3-5 days, during this time is when we will know which way things will go with his intestines. Regardless of what happens his vet bills are going to be about $8,000 dollars. So I am asking for any help at all, any $1 donation towards his bills would be so greatly appreciated.

I love my Bruce Bruce with my whole heart. I just want to see him happy and playing again, enjoying car rides, and begging for my food. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and donate if you can. Thank you so much.
