My Brother's Battle
We continue to pray for wisdom, healing, and provision. The first couple of months were scary and there were times we didn't think he would improve or make it. I am seeing this play out in real time with #mybrothersbattle! We are doing the Gerson therapy (and other supportive therapies) for his S4 Lymphoma that is labeled 'incurable' and not given great odds with conventional therapy. He's staying with us in Florida for the next year or so until he is well enough not to. We are 15 weeks in and seeing significant changes in his blood work, sleep, stamina, overall improved energy, cognitive function and weight gain. He says he feels better than he has felt in two years. First hurdle cleared... we are still running this race! #eattolive #gerson
Ultimately, God is our Healer. Provider. Father. Friend. I want to be honorable in that and at the same time shout from the rooftops and celebrate every single painful step of improvement. Fighting cancer is hard work. It takes it's toll emotionally, spiritually, financially and physically. It impacts everyone we love and even those we don't know. Each step of the way, we have seen victories and improvements. So much to be thankful for. So much to be grateful for. I have watched and fretted over my brother on his worse days and celebrated when he has good ones. I have begged God for his life and health. I've asked for patience and strength along the way. I often forget to pray for provision and it still happens in ways that we least expect it.
The most profound statement I've heard since we started this battle came from Chris Wark. He says that cancer is a Divine tap on the shoulder. We've laughed, cried, prayed and celebrated these last 12 weeks and are in it for the LONG HAUL. Week 13 started today and we will take that #winforthecarrot!! #mybrothersbattle
Thankful for encouraging people who daily cross our path. Thankful for kind nurses. Thankful for the smiles from strangers.
