If you’ve had the opportunity to hear Kyd Kane Poetry, you know she speaks truth with passion and purpose. This year Kyd Kane will be taking her message to the Art Prize stage. Combining spoken word and visual, she will examine how the lack of financial resources impacts the health of the American family. The experience will engage viewers’ senses while walking them through the desperate conditions many families face when deciding between paying bills and feeding their families quality meals.

Kyd Kane is a Poet, Performance Activist, and an Intellectual Writer. Her passion for words started when she was introduced to the art of poetry in the 2nd grade at her school's annual poetry fest and she's been writing ever since. Kyd Kane aims to amplify the astonishment of the spectator by creating poetry that will encourage them to be true to who they are; all while dropping jewels of knowledge to spark an awakening in the mind of those who choose to listen. Kyd Kane has performed at venues and events throughout Michigan and the Midwest since the release of her spoken word video "Awaken". As a member of the poetry collective Intellectual Writers, Kyd will continue to use words and rhythm to reconstruct the negative mindsets that are being programmed into today's society while sharing peace and love.
