Broadland Big Clean Up

Donation protected
My name is James Marshall, I'm 13 years old and attend Broadland Ormiston Academy.  I am fundraising to take part in a 4 week project in Equador in 2021 with Camps International to help make a sustainable difference.

Last year Camps International worked on 103 initiatives worldwide to support rural communities, protect wildlife and preserve fragile ecosystems.

From housing and welfare to improving water and food security, healthcare and sanitation to education and training, wildlife conservation and environmental protection along with helping to develop sustainable livelihoods, these projects are real, grassroots initiatives developed in partnership with local communities to tackle some of the day to day issues they are facing.

Our 2021 Equador Project

Building schools for the 40% of secondary school age children who are also required to work menial tasks to support they family income who require further education for skilled and better paid work.

Help build reliable water systems and toilet systems that will help tackle the poor sanitation and lack of water in the rural mountain community of Kuri Kucho.

Reforesting with the native plant Shiwa, and reforesting medicinal plants, to engage the younger generations in learning about these and the other plants that surround them.

Within the Amazon jungle, we will be aiding reforestation and working with the local community of Chilli Urku to build sustainable rainwater harvesting tanks with toilets, showers, and a washing area for clothes in each family home .  We'll also help to build a reservoir above the village to provide a central communal supply of water.

Supporting the ongoing conservation project to protect the diverse wildlife on the Galapagos Islands.

How I am fundraising

I have decided to raise funds by helping look after our local environment in the Broadland Area.  The 'Broadland Big Clean Up' will include sponsored litter picking days in Broadland villages along with sponsored litter clearing on the Norfolk Broads in our Clean Up Canoe and donated Clean Up Day Boats (thanks to Barnes Brinkcraft).

I am currently looking for businesses in the following villages to sponsor a Clean Up day :-

Aylsham, Baddesfield, Buxton, Coltishall, Drayton, Hainford, Horsford, Horstead, Hoveton, Old Catton, Rackheath, Salhouse, Spixworth, Sprowston and Wroxham

The target for each village Clean Up day sponsorship is £150 and will receive full social media coverage and links throughout the day along with photos of how much litter was cleared though your support and a Thank You certificate.  This can be one kind sponsor of £150, 3 key businesses at £50 each or 6 small businesses donating £25 each.

We are also looking for similar corporate sponsors for the ‘Big Broads Clean Up' days
