I need new lungs

Donation protected
My name is Varuni Persaud, I am 16 years old. I was born with multiple medical complications and spent the entire first year of my life in the hospital. I went home with my family on my first birthday, my life since then has consisted of many more hospital stays and doctors visits. I needed a tracheotomy at birth so I could breathe and I spend most of my time on a ventilator. I am currently on the list for a lung transplant, but there's no telling how long I will be waiting. My condition recently took a turn for the worst, I was at Shand's Children's Hospital for 3 months. After all the treatments they offer were unsuccessful, they sent me home to wait. There's a stem cell treatment offered by The Lung Institute in Tampa that is changing the lives of people just like me with severe lung disease by using their very own stem cells. Donations raised would cover medical expenses not covered by insurance. If I could get this treatment it would give me a chance to live like a normal teenager and enjoy things that my sister's are able to do. The ability to breathe is something that many people often take for granted. Activities that many enjoy, such as shopping and exercising, require a great deal of exertion and respiration. Having a lung condition is extremely difficult for anyone, but it is especially hard on a teenage girl.Varuni Persaud is a 17-year-old girl who was born with tracheal atresia. This means she was born without a trachea. During the first year of her life, Varuni had to live in the hospital and was not able to go home with her family until her first birthday. Sadly, she still spends most of her time on a ventilator. She has had pneumonia more than ten times and is now experiencing pulmonary hypertension, which is an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, veins or capillaries. It can cause many different side effects and can even lead to heart failure.Varuni was placed on a lung transplant waiting list, but decided to research different options. Lung transplants can be extremely risky because there is a good chance it can be rejected by the recipient’s body. Typically, lung transplants only add a few short years to a recipient’s life. For this 17-year-old, that just wasn’t enough.Varuni took her health into her own hands and began to research other possible options. It didn’t take long for Varuni to discover the Lung Institute and to read about the different treatment options that people with similar conditions had undergone. She finally felt hope.Unfortunately, insurance companies are not yet covering the costs of stem cell treatments. Varuni needed help to be able to afford her stem cell treatments. Through donations on her GoFundMe page, Varuni was able to get the stem cell therapy she needed. She is well on her way to a stress-free life where she is able to breathe easily and participate in activities with her sisters. By allowing her to feel less restricted and less reliant on oxygen, you can give her the gift of breath. It would not solely be a gift for Varuni, but it would benefit her friends, family and people she has yet to meet who will get to experience her spirit, not the one limited by her current condition. The Lung Institute uses stem cells to regenerate damaged lung tissue. With the use of stem cell therapy, Varuni will be able to breathe easier. After finishing her stem cell treatment at the Lung Institute, Varuni hopes to utilize recent medical advancements by receiving an artificial trachea engineered specifically for her. (stated by the Lung Insitute Of Tampa) Thanks for the treatment, My  quality in life has improved such as, using less oxygen, riding my bike around the block which I was never able to do, and trying to keep up with my sisters and friends.
