Brittany’s 3rd open heart surgery

Brittany Lynn is my 9 year old granddaughter. She will be having a 3rd  open heart surgery at some point over the next few months. We don’t have an exact date yet. We are raising funds for medical expenses, travel expenses and day to day expenses to help the family through this tough time. 

Brittany was born July 2, 2009 at the children’s hospital of Philadelphia. She is a twin but unfortunatly her twin sister passed away at one month old due to a congenital heart defect. Brittany was diagnosed with a subaortic membrane at 6 months old and had her first open heart surgery at 18 months old. It only took about 2 1/2 years for the membrane to grow back enough to need removed for a second time. Brittany had her second open heart surgery a week after her 4th birthday and had a lot of complications following surgery.

For this upcoming surgery Brittany will again need a subaortic membrane removed as well as the possibility of her aortic valve needing repaired or replaced. There is also a good possibility she will require a pacemaker after this surgery. 

Her family will need assistance with a lot of expenses and will also have a loss of income while Brittany is in the hospital and during some of the recovery time.
