For the past year, Brit felt that something wasn't quite right.
She felt an unease; she felt out of control of her emotions.
She tried everything.
Counseling.
Medication.
Her relationships suffered.
Something was wrong.
But what was it?
And why couldn't she take control of her life?
Soon, her vision began to go.
As a photographer who's life work is to capture the joy and memories of her clients, this just wouldn't do.
It was scary.
It was intimidating.
But she knew she needed to see a doctor.
In March, she agreed to a brain scan.
A week later, she got the news.
Tucked away in the middle of her brain was a grape-sized tumor.
If she didn't proceed with immediate removal, she would lose her vision.
She would lose control.
She took a breath, and she began to plan.
What would she do with her little ones? She's a mother or two.
What would she do about her work? She had so many photo sessions scheduled for her clients.
Sessions that would pay for food, for clothing, and for a home for her babies.
She had just days to plan.
But she held it together, and she confronted the situation.
She scheduled her surgery (4/6/18, 7:15 am CST)
She booked one of the best neurosurgeons in the country.
She made the necessary arrangements,
and she held it together.
Grace, poise, and strength only balance fear, concern, and pain to an extent.
Where would she come up with the $200,000 this surgery would cost?
She would lose so much income...
Recovery would be lengthly...
Physical and speech therapy would only add up to more...
