Raising funds to bring home Chocci.
We met Chocci one morning as we left for breakfast, in Varanasi, India, our current travel location. On our way back to our guesthouse we saw her, skin and bones, lying on the hot floor in a tiny heap, she had flies around her emmaciated body and could only wag her tail at us as we said hello to her. We gave her water and within half an hour she began to sit up, we had to leave her but hoped to find her on the way back home later that afternoon. Thankfully we saw her again as hoped, she was being corned by a few bigger dogs, although she was shaking , Chocci was not hurt (except for a cut to her face) with some love and food given to her we decided we couldnt leave her on the streets. Chocci is a small dog and so weak she would die!.
Looking at her frail body we knew we had to do something. We took her back to our room, where she ate scrambled eggs, drank some more water and slept. The next day we used some of our remaining travel funds and took her to the vet who told us, although she is severely under weight, she's otherwise healthy and roughly three and a half months old.
We have fallen in love with her, we knew we had to do all we can to bring her home. With little time left in India we must act quick. We made some enquiries about travel and I (Patricia, contacted a friend, Button Wilde, who haas helped rescue and forster a number of Romanian street dogs to ask for her help. Together the three of us Patricia, Madison & Button are going to do our very best to bring this Beautiful dog home so we can give her the life she desperately deserves.
Airpets offer a full pet relocation service which is the quickest and safest way to get Chocci home. Once in the UK Chocci will have a loving home, However the important things at present is to raise the funds needed bring her home. We can not bare to leave her behind. Life for street dogs is extremely harsh, especially for a puppy. Most of the dogs we see here have broken limbs, are riddled with flees and disease, and many starve to death. If we can't bring Chocci home there is no other choice but to put her back on the street as there are no animal shelters near Varanasi and she is not allowed on public transport.
We would be forever grateful for any donation. We have developed a bond a grown to love her and her us. It would be heart breaking for the three of us to part ways. We just want to bring her home with us to the UK as its what we feel is best for her and our hearts.
We need to raise approximately £3,500 (all reciepts will be shown) which will include:
- Transport of the pet from Varanasi to New Delhi
- Microchipping
- Rabies vaccines
- DHPPI
- Lepto
- Tapeworm treatment
- Blood TITER test from UK approved lab
- Boarding facility for four months with royal canin food
- IATA approved crate
- Export permit
- Health certificate
- Documentation
- Transportation
- Custom clearance
- Air freight from New Delhi to London
- Door to door delivery
