WE'RE BACK!
Thanks to your support the Frankston Dolphins VFL Team are back for 2018, after the AFL recently restored their VFL licence!
As many of you know, at the end of the 2016 football season the Frankston Football Club was in significant debt and the Club was placed into voluntary administration. The Club's VFL licence was subsequently revoked and the Club did not field a Frankston VFL team in 2017.
A 'Save the Frankston Dolphins' Steering Committee was set up, which worked hard to help achieve the positive result of creditors of the Frankston FC voting to keep the Club afloat.
The Frankston FC faced many challenges as they worked to renew their Club and put in place the foundations required for the AFL to restore its VFL licence for 2018.
The Club achieved its aim of fielding a 2018 team by achieving a significant reduction of their debt, putting in place strong governance and gaining widespread community support.
This ‘Bring Back the Dolphins' VFL Club Fund, and your donations, along with the Club's membership drive, Dolphin's In Business functions and general donations helped achieve this goal, particularly by showing community support.
The Club now has a sound plan to become financially viable in a sustainable way, to field a competitive football team, to work with local football leagues, to connect with and support our community and has put in strong governance structures in place to ensure that they are successful into the future.
We thank you for YOUR financial support to enable the Dolphins to achieve their Licence back!
Funds were placed directly into a formal Trust Fund for the protection of your donations, which was set up by Frankston Football Club. You can continue to donate via this page, or directly to the Club, any time to support the Club further as they go into fielding a VFL Team again in 2018!
