I am beyond excited to share that Mariana’s family is coming for her! It has been almost a year exactly that Mariana came into our home for the hosting program. It was a beautiful time of bonding, playing and learning. Our family came to love Mariana deeply in the month she was with us. Her contagious smile, nurturing spirit, love for babies, animals and music made it feel like we had known her forever. I consider it an honor to have been a voice for someone who needed one, and ultimately be a part of her journey home. She is a bright light, and so fit for this equally radiant family!
Her mom and dad, Sara and Craig, and older brothers met Mariana while we were hosting her last summer. They saw her advocacy posts on social media and were able to spend time getting to know her, and after a year of pushing through paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork they cannot wait to go to Colombia and bring her back to the States. Adoption is truly a labor of love!
Craig and Sara have completely self-funded their adoption with Madison Adoption Associates up to this point, and now they have an amazing opportunity, through Brittany’s Hope Foundation, to receive a MATCHING grant. Colombia requires an extended stay to legally finalize the adoption, so these final funds will cover the cost of travel, in country housing, paperwork and appointments. In order to qualify for the matching grant, which would be an additional $4,000 from Brittany's Hope Foundation, they must meet their goal of $4,000 before they travel. We have set our goal date as August 1, 2019.
Mariana has been waiting so long for her family to find her, and her wait is almost over!!! Let’s help this incredible family by easing the financial burden so they can run to their daughter.
