Bring Daniel Norée To MRRF 2019

$2,115 of $1,500 goal

Who are we helping?
Daniel Norée  is an Opensource 3D printing legend, avid outdoor adventurer, and all around great guy. He is the man behind both the OpenR/C Project as well as the popular 3D printing torture test, the Benchy. Daniel's OpenR/C project was a featured event at MRRF 2018, and it was a groundswell of excitement that featured the very best of the 3D printing community. The Midwest RepRap Festival (MRRF) is held in Goshen, Indiana from March 29-31, 2019. Daniel lives in Sweden, and he covers his own expenses to take part in community events like MRRF. Daniel announced that he was unable to attend this year's event [which the author of this campaign assumes is related to the excessive cost for such a short trip]. We reached out to Daniel to see what funds would be needed to cover travel, lodging, and meals.

Who is running this campaign?
Ryan and Chris are a couple 3D printing evangelists and hobbyists that started a 3D printing Pittsburgh (3DPPGH) meetup group in 2016 and have been longtime sponsors of MRRF. When we heard that Daniel would not be attending, we wanted to rally the 3D printing community to bring Daniel to MRRF to take part in the OpenR/C F1 World Championships once again. 3DPPGH is not only running this campaign but also putting our money where our mouth is. All funds go directly to support Daniel, and we describe the scenarios below.

How will the funds be used?
We are seeking $1500 in order to cover travel, lodging, and meals for Daniel from March 29 - April 1, 2019. We will also reach out to the MRRF attendees to assist with transportation to/from the Chicago airport. And, we need the funds quickly since flights and hotels need to be booked ASAP!

What happens if we do not hit $1500?
If we do not raise $1500, we are unable to bring Daniel to MRRF 2019.  Daniel will use this money to benefit the 3D printing community.

What happens if we raise more than $1500?
If we raise more than $1500, Daniel will come to MRRF 2019.  Daniel will use all funds above the $1500 mark to benefit the 3D printing community.

I hope you will consider helping us bring Daniel to Goshen for an epic #MRRF2019 and OpenR/C World Championship!

Holy moly! We tipped over the 50% mark in a little over two hours after I shared the campaign. I would like to take a moment and thank those who have already contributed to the funding goal. The 3D printing community is awesome!
