Bring climbing therapy to Rochester MN!

My name is Bradley Parlier and I am passionate about two things: helping others find healing and rock climbing. I am setting out to utilize those passions together and help those fighting the battle against depression through climbing therapy. Current research is beginning to show potential for treatment regimens and many organizations have taken advantage of this approach to begin healing those in need, especially the Institute of Climbing Therapy in Austria. It is my mission to gather funds for more research, as well as taking an active hand in bringing this unique therapeutic approach to Rochester and beyond. I am planning to partner with Roca Climbing and fitness as well as many other gyms in the area. My vision is to start up programs at climbing gyms around Minnesota that will benefit people struggling with depression and anxiety. The first funds that I will receive will afford me an opportunity to travel to a 5-day seminar held at the Institute of Climbing Therapy in Salzburg, Austria to gather information and how to efficiently use climbing to truly bring about change in the lives of those struggling with depression and anxiety. After that, my funds will go towards partnering with climbing gyms in the area to make these programs as cost effective as possible so that there is little to no financial requirement for the patients themselves (this program is about their healing, not their wallets). Any funds that are received past this point will be used to further climbing therapy research. 

I have personally seen the difference that climbing can make in my life. All I want is to have the ability to humbly bring the kind of hope and healing that I saw change my life into the lives of others.
