Bridge To Sanctuary Forest

$100 of $30,000 goal

The bridge to this sanctuary forest desperately needs replacing and the resident stewards, Chip and Jen, are asking for your help to replace it with a metal bridge. The wooden bridge has been replaced twice by hand and  now we are getting too old to do it.

Since his youth, Chip Boggs has had the burning desire to save a forest. By working hard, 30 years ago he was able to purchase  365 Acres of Mixed Age, Mixed Species Forest in the rugged foothills of the Coast Range of SW Oregon.  This forest will always be protected, because Chip purchased a Conservation Easement with Southern Oregon Land Conservancy.

Living a life of voluntary simplicity, he has preserved and shared the beautiful forest sanctuary known as "Walker Creek"  and "Mountain Homestead", with many people, young and old. A natural building school operates here in the summer, school children come by the bus full, off-grid energy tours, garden tours and a seed library was started here. These blessings will still be here long after we are gone due to the conservation easement.

Thank you for your generosity and interest and if you are ever in SW Oregon we will take you on a hike in the sanctuary forest! Chip and Jen
