Walking Across America for Overdose
I can't remember the exact date, but I do remember the moment that the idea of walking across America came to me. I knew right then and there that it was going to happen. I began doing research, collecting gear, and hiking as much as possible. I read books and web blogs from people who have done it before. The more I read, practiced, and told people about it, the more I knew that it was the right thing and the right time for me to do this.
I will need help with funding the trip, but also with spreading the word. Every dollar that is not spent on the trip will go to charity or to help me start my own non-profit afterwards if it ends up being a big success.
I will be posting updates about my trip, as well as facts about drug overdose on my website. brettbramblewalks.com
I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful sister Brittany. My son, Brandon, died on May 18, 2013, to a heroin overdose. My only son, my firstborn, forever 19. Bless you for what you're doing. I am so humbled by your actions and so thankful for the awareness you're bringing to this heartbreaking epidemic. I hope I can meet you someday and say thank you in person.
