Breast Cancer Rematch

Hello! My name is Lisa Cross, and I want to share a bit of my story!
I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, but I overcame it and became an advocate for breast health as well as support for other survivors. Unfortunately, the breast cancer has returned, and I am now in the middle of a rematch. I am prepared to fight mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, but I need help to fight financially. Breast cancer comes with a great deal of financial strain, especially on someone who is not able to work through the process. I am currently, temporarily unemployed from Blytheville High School until I am done with all treatments and surgeries are done. To break down my financial obligations, I have made a list of my expenses. I not only want to show my legitimate need for financial assistance, I also want to educate others on the financial toll breast cancer can have on an individual.
My chemotherapy treatments are between $55,000-$75,000 per treatment and I have to have them every 21 days until July 2020. Along with each treatment, a Lunesta shot is needed which is $14,000 per shot. Being that it is my 2nd go around, treatments are more aggressive this time around.
Other doctors visits and check-ups are about $200 per visit depending on the tests and exams may be needed. Not to mention gas which is about $50 per trip.
I have already been informed that I will need a double mastectomy which, from my understanding, on average can cost $8,000 - $10,000 per breast. After my double mastectomy, I will need reconstructive surgery, which can be $10,000 per breast.
On top of all of those medical costs, even though I am currently unemployed, I still have to pay my insurance premiums out of pocket, which is $360 a month.
That is a lot to take care of! But you know what, I am not defeated! I believe that I will come out the victor again, and will be able to get back to running the race for others by the grace of the Lord!
