Tash’s fight against Breast Cancer

Im here to tell you about my best friend of 11 years. A beautiful, strong, independent, smart and fun 26 year old. A best friend I’ve created amazing memories with. A best friend who I will continue to do life with. This is the story of Natasha. On Tuesday June 25th 2019, she was told the news any young woman shouldn’t hear. She had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Undergoing countless scans confirming the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. Specialists furthered the news with an action plan consisting of immediate IVF treatment- freezing of the eggs in order to begin chemotherapy as it could potentially put Tash at risk of infertility. Followed by a 6 month course of harsh chemotherapy and then a double mastectomy before months of radiation treatment. Finishing off with continuous hormonal injections that Tash would have to do for the next 5 years.

Tash has chosen not to go ahead with this action plan as it will affect her weak immune system and the chemo could potentially put her at further risk.

However, Tash and her family have ventured out and discovered an alternative medicines clinic in Thailand which only use 10% of chemotherapy (low dose) together with further IV infusions, allowing Tash’s immune system to be strong enough to fight this battle.

This treatment does come at a high expense and with such short notice has become quite daunting to Tash and her family in having to deal with the physical and emotional challenges that lie ahead.

Her journey is long and Tash is most grateful for any contribution to ease the stress of the toughest battle she’s about to undergo in her life.
