Break the Stigma SSM

Sault Ste Marie is currently plagued with  high levels of addictions and mental illness. Too many people are hesitant to seek the help they so desperately need due to the negative stigma that comes with these conditions.

We know that the city and SAH are working to improve the services that already exist. It's up to us, though, to show those struggling that  we care, so that they feel empowered to get the help they need and deserve.

The funds collected through this GoFundMe will be used to organize the first of what will hopefully become an annual awareness event for all ages.  We envision music, food, and public figures at an outdoor event open to all.

We've applied for a rotary gives 100 grant to put towards this as well.

This is a conversation that needs to stay relevant, and that's why we need your help. Pairing something people are often so hesitant to talk about with a fun, informative, and most importantly, accepting environment can not only be the catalyst for a conversation - it can also be the catalyst for long-term change.
