Brave Coop is Going Live
Digital Safe Injection Site
Consuming drugs at safe consumption sites have saved thousands and thousands of lives.
For those with no access to a physical site, Brave's digital safe consumption platform has tools that connect you with anonymous, remote supporters. And if you do overdose, we'll alert nearby community responders trained and equipped to keep you alive until paramedics arrive.
Brave is building that system. Our prototype app is being tested in Vancouver this summer. We need to figure out a lot but we've been working with people who use drugs and those that serve them and we know what needs to be done to get to the next stage.
Designing With (not for) Users
We are building the app, the backend to connect other tools (hardware, wearables) and to publish information to those that need it (starting with our community of peers).
As we perform this work, we like to pay the people that are sharing their wisdom and lived experience with us.
Our $2,000 goal is to fund those payments and our other development costs as we move forward.
Any funds over the $2,000 amount would go towards development costs, with 10% of the total raised being donated to VANDU and the Overdose Prevention Society (and to other partners in this space as we move beyond Vancouver.)
We would be immensely grateful for any amount or gesture of help you could offer. Whether you are able to put a few dollars towards this campaign, share it with your network, or send us a note of encouragement.
