Brandon to attend Envision’s NYLF Pathways to STEM

We are raising funds for our son Brandon, he is ten years old. Brandon’s favorites subjects in school are math, science, reading, and band. Brandon reads two chapters in his Bible daily, loves technology, and playing Minecraft on his computer, he also likes his remote-control monster truck. His favorite shows are Myth Busters Jr., Curious Crew, Dragon Fly TV, Nova, Impossible Builds, and anything pertaining to building and science. He would like to pursue a career in computer engineering.
Brandon will be joining outstanding elementary school students from across the state to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM, taking place in Minneapolis, MN June 23-28, 2019. He was nominated to attend the forum by his fourth-grade teacher at General Beadle Elementary. He was selected because he demonstrated exceptional maturity, scholastic merit, and leadership potential.
Brandon is excited and looking forward to attending the forum so he can get hands-on experience in the engineering field. The forum will give him the opportunity to turn his career and life aspirations into reality. As a scholar, he will be able to enjoy the unique opportunity to build a robot, train as a doctor, and investigate a crime. At the same time, make new friends and build new skills.
A portion of the funds we receive from you will go to Pathways to STEM tuition remaining balance of $1796.00. The tuition will cover Brandon’s meals and 6 days and 5 nights stay at the University of MN. Transportation round trip flight of $1249.00 is not included with the tuition. My husband and I will be staying in Minneapolis the week Brandon’s at the forum, so we will need help with lodging and meals as well. We are asking for your generous support for help with tuition and expenses not covered. We will be looking into other sources of fundraising as well.
Brandon will return from the program with increased confidence, and independence, improved presentation skills, and the ability to interact successfully with others. His dreams are to be a good role model for his peers and his community.
