BRANDON BARMORE MEMORIAL FUND

The Barmore family and the Sonoma community lost a vibrant valued member when Brandon Barmore passed away on March 26, 2017 while in Nicaragua with a trip through the Seeds of Learning organization.  Brandon was two months shy of his 18th birthday and high school graduation.

Brandon was incredibly involved at Sonoma Valley High School and in the community.  During his four years at the high school he was captain of the track team, ran cross country, played water polo, wrestled, competed on the swim team and recently won the SVHS Mr. Dragon competition.  He was also in the culinary arts program, the captain of the forensics speech team, performed in drama productions, and participated the Mock Trial team and the Model UN club.  In the community, he was an energetic and inspiring counselor at the Sebastiani Theater summer camps, helped with and performed in Witchie Poo productions, and worked for the Rhotens at the Sebastiani Theatre.  Brandon was also a volunteer ropes course leader in his spare time.

My name is Alison Lasley and my family and I are close friends of the Barmore family.  We have actually known Brandon since the day he was born.  Our hearts and prayers are with Phil, Margee, Ryan and Emily in this time.  Although it is so hard to comprehend the loss of their amazing son, the Barmores are walking through this time with grace and are able to comfort those around them in the midst of their own sorrow.  Phil quoted Romans 8:28 in saying, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

This GoFundMe account is set up to help offset the costs for the Barmore family surrounding Brandon’s burial and memorial.  Any funds received above these needs will be donated to the non-profit organizations that Brandon loved and devoted his time, energy and incredible talent to in his community.

Brandon will be buried here in the Sonoma cemetery.  A celebration of Brandon’s life will take place on Saturday, April 15th at 2pm in the Sonoma Valley High School gymnasium.
