SCC's "The BrainMatter Project"

The students from Sacramento City College (the same that brought you the memorable Pedal Theory Kinetic Bicycle Sculpture Project) are now embarking on a cool journey in creating an awesome Maker Space on campus.

As part of this effort, the Maker Space Team has designed and started production on a really fun project that is bringing together students—and faculty alike— from the Fine Arts, Graphic Communications, Computer Science and Theater Departments in collaborating on the "BrainMatter Project" that will be featured at the San Mateo 'Maker Faire' Event on Saturday, May 20th, 2017.

The "BrainMatter Project" is a joint effort in which a massive inflatable brain that will come alive and "breathe" with human interaction! Designed to relate to the functions of the six major parts of the brain, stations will be built and programmed to include some form of entertaining interactive activity for up to six people to engage with at any given time.

We ask that you help our efforts out, in not only bringing this fantastic idea to light, but also to help Sacramento City College continue to be a source of innovation and creativity with the addition of its very own Maker Space. 

Your donations will support SCC students attending the Bay Area Makers Faire by helping us purchase tickets and cover transportation costs. Additionally, it will aid us in covering extra expenses incurred in the creation of this project.
