Brainiac Bears go to DI Globals

A stellar team of Amelia Earhart Elementary students have advanced to the 2017 Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals competition in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 24-27. The Brainiac Bears are pumped, ready to demonstrate their talents and represent Alameda, Calif., at this international competition -- after winning at both the Regional and State competitions and taking a special DaVinci award for their creativity!
DI is a creative problem-solving competition in which student teams create a solution to a technical, scientific, service learning, or artistic/fine arts challenge. They present their team solution in an 8-minute skit that follows specific parameters. The competition is fierce, but Earhart DI teams have been preparing since September, meeting after school and on the weekends, and they are ready to showcase their work.
We Need You
It's a huge honor for this team to be selected to compete at Global Finals after winning at the regional and state levels, but the teams can't go onto Globals without YOU!
The students must raise funds to pay for their registration fees, airfare and ground transportation, and food and accommodations in Tennessee. With only a few weeks to go until Globals, the pressure is on. We're planning many community fundraisers to cover the trip costs. We've set on our GoFundMe page goal at $10,000 -- this amount and the fundraising targets for the other events will get us closer to our total goal.
