Pike County Search Dog
of $5,000 goal
Raised by 11 people in 50 months
After a massive six hour search for a 3 year old girl lost in a cornfield, Ryan Crowder Pittsfield Volunteer FireFighter has made a commitment to fill the Gap here in Pike County Illinois to help assist surrounding Law enforcement and Fire services and anyone in need of searching for a loved one. We have located a Bloodhound Named Nick, available for sale located San Antonio Texas. Nick is 4 years old 95lbs and ready to work. Nick is currently being used in texas to assist in elementary schools to educate with a "stranger Danger" program and has many deployment hours My goal is to raise enough money to assist in the purchase of the K9 and travel expenses to cover the nearly 1000 mile trip one way" My dream would be to have enough funds raised to kick start a nonprofit organization to help assist others who may be interested in becoming a search dog handler and kick off this much needed program to help those when its needed most. If we are able to get Nick to Pike County he would be a great resource to be used by all surronding fire and law enforcement agencies. The acquisition of nick is not intended to replace any existing search efforts or agencies but compliment existing search efforts; it is not intended to replace anyone! Search dogs are a tool, not a total solution. When waiting for that callout, they are valuable to teach family safety.
