Boxing for Veterans

Tax deductible
I will be getting into the ring on the 16th February 2019, for a boxing event called ‘Boxing for Veterans’. The aim is to raise money for Veteran Charities. I have decided to start fundraising early as most people will probably be skint after Christmas and New year. I will be raising money for a charity called ‘Combat Stress’ who help former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Combat Stress provides life-changing treatment to Veterans from every service and every conflict.

I would also like to raise awareness of some of the difficulties Veterans face, without getting too political or biased there are major flaws in the Mental Healthcare available to Veterans as well as Civilians. Many Veterans hit rock bottom and believe that their only option is to end their life. On the week commencing 13/08/2018, 6 Veterans took their own life. The inaction and incompetence of the Government are subsequently resulting in doing a job the Taliban couldn’t do. A petition has been set up that will request coroners in the UK to keep records of suicides by Veterans allowing the problem to be recorded and studied more effectively. Please share and help raise awareness of the epidemic that is sweeping OUR Veterans community.
