We did it!

It is with heartfelt thanks that I share this on Christmas Eve:  Because of the actions of caring friends and family, I gave my sister the best Christmas present ever: The news that her mortgage will be paid off.  The true blessing she received however was finding out that when you feel like you’re about to fall, there are people that will stand beside you to make sure you don't.

The last 7 days have been traumatic, heartbreaking, inspiring, and rewarding. In the process, I lost my a dad, had my faith in humanity shattered and then restored, renewed friendships, and most of all, learned to truly appreciate those people that share the common belief that blessings in life come from helping those in need.

So my gift to each of you for Christmas is the knowledge that your contribution, no matter how large or small, made a huge difference in the life of a family that really needed it. I hope this knowledge gives you peace, serenity, and humbleness that you can share with your loved ones for the Holiday Season.

Great News!  The funding goal has been changed from $8,000 to only $4,000.

Nothing makes a day start better than receiving a call from a treasured friend that shares a simple belief:  The blessings in life come from helping those in need.  In short, this person's pledge and promise is that once this account is funded to $4,000, the balance will be matched!   Many thanks to each you.

Looking forward to giving this Christmas present!

To: Friends and Family

My sister's husband recently had spinal decompression back surgery at Vanderbilt.  He is currently in a physical rehabilitation facility.  The prognosis is that he will not regain the use of his legs so they are making plans for him to resume life in a wheelchair when he returns home in mid-January.  As a mechanic, he will never be able to work again.  Despite having her own serious health issues, she works full time but her income barely covers the monthly expenses of $1,100, which includes a mortgage payment of nearly $700.  The good news is the mortgage balance is only $8,000.

Her church has built a wheelchair ramp.   I'm asking you to join me in giving her a "hand up" by paying off her mortgage and then some!

Nobody can right all of the wrongs of world, but we can certainly make sure she never loses her house!

Holiday Cheer!
