Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation Marathon Team

I am excited to share that I will be running the 2020 Boston Marathon for the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation!
The mission of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation is to extend the reach of the Celtics legacy into the greater Boston community. The Shamrock Foundation does this through partnering with several community based organizations to provide healthcare, shelter, educational assistance, and other vital support services to children in need.
Being a sophomore at Boston College, I have had the opportunity to serve at the Mildred Ave. School, coaching lacrosse, tutoring, and mentoring a small group of middle school girls. This free after-school program enables girls the opportunity to engage in physical activity, receive additional academic support, and build meaningful relationships with mentors and peers that they otherwise would not have the chance to do. I have witnessed first hand the great impact this program has had on the girls; I see courage and confidence growing within each of them which is reflected in their academics and their enthusiasm to conquer new things.
As I have reflected on these positive changes I have witnessed and contrasted their lives with my own I cannot help but feel blessed, humbled, and appreciative for each of you who has impacted my life in a positive manner. I love a meaningful challenge and feel that running the Boston Marathon gives me an opportunity to pay it forward by supporting the services and guidance that the Shamrock Foundation provides for many in the community! I have committed to raising $12,500; however, I have a personal goal to raise $13,500!
I am incredibly proud to be part of the 2020 Green Runs Deep Marathon Team and raise money and awareness for such a great foundation! Please consider donating; any amount would be greatly appreciated!
