Ben Armitage Camp Borneo 2020

My name is Ben Armitage, I am a secondary school student,  and I am planning to go on a four week expedition to Borneo in 2020 with Camp International and I am trying to raise £500 to help fund this expedition.  I will be undertaking projects that fall into three main areas:

* community development work (e.g  projects such as building schools (to improve access to education), improving sanitation, building homes for vulnerable families);
* environmental projects (e.g.  beach clean ups (protecting turtle nesting sites), recycling plastic waste into eco-friendly building materials, planting seedlings in a rainforest tree nursery;
* wildlife conservation (e.g  planting food trees for Orangutans, sea turtle conservation, helping plan environmental education workshops for local schools). 

I am really looking forward to working within the local community and immersing myself in their culture and making a real difference.  

This expedition is going to push me physically and mentally, I will be outside of my comfort zone and a long way from home, but I am looking forward to stepping into the unknown, making a difference and learning new skills. I have never done anything like this before, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will grab it with both hands.
