Update: 11/17/18
Hello everyone,
This is our final adoption fundraising-specific update.
First of all, thank you for donating to our campaign.
We leveraged the generous gifts from each of you to a matching grant from an adoption grant organization affiliated with our adoption agency. We also refinanced our home which covered the bulk needed to reach our personal goal for our adoption budget.
We now feel it’s appropriate to turn off the donation option on our gofundme account.
Process-wise, we are one official document and one somewhat elaborate authentication process away from submitting our dossier. We’re not sure what our timeline to meet our kids will be, but we’re (mostly) at peace with that.
If we don’t update you much in the next several months, it’s likely because we have no new information to update. We do get to put together our first family book to introduce ourselves to the children. It is really exciting and kind of intimidating to contemplate: How would you introduce yourself to your children if you were meeting them for the first time when they were seven and eight?

Update: 2/16/18- we are almost done compiling all documents for the home study, have taken two classes and have one more to go plus some e-learning). We are researching which grants to apply for and are meeting with a financial counselor for advice on budgeting, savings, and loans. We considered closing the gofundme, because maybe we can figure it out, but decided to leave it open. If someone wants to give, we are thankful. If adoption fundraising is not your thing (maybe you think it's in bad taste), we have talked about that point of view and share some of that discomfort. We understand not giving due to any reason or no reason at all.
Update: 10/09/18- Our home study has been approved! Our next steps are to finalize our dossier and secure necessary financing for remainder of balance.
